The Circles of Care program is designed to support federally recognized Tribes and urban Indian communities in their efforts to design and assess culturally appropriate mental health service models for American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) children with serious emotional disturbances and their families. The Dialogue
A quarterly information bulletin providing time-sensitive, practical, and down-to-earth information for State and Territory mental health and substance abuse coordinators and their local service providers. E-bulletin features include an update on news and notes from the disaster mental health and substance abuse fields, information on special events, and highlights of State profiles.
CMHS Program Spotlight-State Planning/Mental Health Block Grants
The Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) State Planning Branch awards grants to States for providing mental health services to people with mental illnesses. These grants are designed to improve access to community-based health care delivery systems for people with serious mental illnesses, who often quickly exhaust available insurance benefits and turn to their States and the public system of mental health care.
National Therapeutic Recreation Week - July 11-17, 2004
National Therapeutic Recreation Week is an annual observance that promotes awareness of the benefits of therapeutic recreation programs and services. During this weeklong celebration, organizers spotlight and encourage recreational activities involving people with mental illnesses and people with disabilities.
National Parents' Day - July 25, 2004
National Parents' Day is an observance that is celebrated on the fourth Sunday in July to increase awareness of parental responsibilities. This special day celebrates the efforts of parents and encourages all Americans to show appreciation for their parents, who may be biological, adoptive, foster, or stepparents.
