    Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)
    SAMHSA is the Federal government agency charged with improving the quality and availability of services to prevent, treat, and rehabilitate persons who suffer with substance abuse and mental disorders. The web site provides information about mental health and substance abuse legislation, policy issues, and funding and grant opportunities, as well as a database of health-related news articles, statistics and data, prevention and treatment resources, and workplace programs.

    National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)
    NIMH is the Federal government agency that conducts research on the causes, treatment, and prevention of mental and behavioral disorders. The web site provides information about breaking news, current events, clinical trials, funding opportunities, and research programs, with special sections for the public, practitioners, and researchers.

    National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI)
    NAMI is a grassroots, support and advocacy organization that works to achieve fair and equal services and treatment for Americans living with mental illness and their families. The web site offers information about mental illness in the news, current studies and reports, policy and advocacy action, State and local activities, upcoming events, and networking opportunities.

    National Mental Health Association (NMHA)
    NMHA works to improve the mental health of all Americans, and especially those with mental disorders, through advocacy, education, research, and service. The web site offers mental health information, the latest news, public policy alerts, updates on State advocacy activities, information about public awareness campaigns, and free downloads of new publications.

    Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA)
    DBSA educates the public, supports research, and advocates for the fair treatment of persons with the two most prevalent mental illnesses - depression and bipolar disorder. The web site provides information on mood disorders, mental health news, legislative action, programs and publications, support groups and chapters, finding a mental health professional, and links to related mental health organizations, Federal agencies, and other informational sites.
